2011/1 CCPA's Open Fun Football Schools Programme

Cross Cultures Project Association (CCPA) started Open Fun Football Schools in post-war Bosnia & Herzegovina in 1998. Subsequently, this evolved into a programme covering all the countries in former Yugoslavia. A regional OFFS programme for Caucasus/SNG countries was initiated in 2003. In the Middle East and Iraq CCPA has from 2005 carried out football schools. In total, activities have involved more than 250,000 children, 15,000 parents and 25,000 local volunteers, who have been trained as coaches and leaders on seminars of 3-5 days’ duration.

This evaluation study was commissioned by Danida and Sida with the aim of identifying lessons learnt and good practice. It covers the period 2005-10 and focuses on programme activities in the Balkans, Moldova and Caucasus.
