Evaluation of support to gender equality in danish development cooperation 2014-2021

An evaluation of support to Gender Equality in Danish Development Cooperation (2014-2021) has been carried out. The overall purpose of the evaluation was to learn from implementation of previous programmes and projects in terms of addressing gender issues, with a view to strengthen Denmark’s integration of gender equality, girls’ and women’s rights in Danish development cooperation. The evaluation reviewed selected engagements as well as the institutional dimensions of support to gender mainstreaming and gender targeted programming. It includes case studies in Burkina Faso, Kenya and Mali as well as four international and multilateral partner organisations. The evaluation presents conclusions both regarding positive contributions to gender equality as well as missed opportunities, and sets forward recommendations for the future work.
