P4G - Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030

P4G aims to accelerate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals by bringing together the private sector, civil society and public authorities in partnerships for green and inclusive growth. P4G provides a critical platform to bring green growth policies into practice through partnerships that can achieve high-impact, market-driven solutions and as such, P4G offers a way to implement SDG 17.

P4G aims to develop and accelerate innovative public-private partnerships within five selected areas where cross-sector collaboration is critical for achieving the goals. These include food and agriculture (SDG 2), energy (SDG 7), water (SDG 6), cities (SDG 11) and circular economy (SDG 12). P4G provides funding, facilitation, network and valuable recognition to accelerate and scale partnerships. P4G supports start-up partnerships in the incubation phase and scale-up partnerships which by being scaled and replicated can deliver large-scale impact on green growth and sustainable development.

P4G Partner Countries and Organisation

P4G was launched in 2017 by a group of countries and international organisations, who view partnerships as the key to achieve accelerated and high-impact solutions. Partner countries include Bangladesh, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Kenya, the Netherlands, South Africa, South Korea, Mexico, and Vietnam. Partner countries are committed to promote partnerships and to set up a national platform, which ensures the involvement of relevant businesses, authorities, civil society and knowledge institutions in the national context. State of Green is the Danish national platform, which promotes wide Danish involvement in P4G.

International organisations such as World Resources Institute, World Economic Forum, C40 Cities, Global Green Growth Institute, International Finance Cooperation and UN Global Compact are P4G partner organisations. They provide subject expertise, important networking opportunities and valuable support for P4G and its partnerships.

All partners contribute to the strategic development of P4G through the P4G Board of Directors, which consists of representatives from P4G partner countries and partner organisations as well as CEOs from the private sector. The P4G Secretariat, which manages the Partnership Fund and ensures partnership facilitation, is hosted by World Resources Institute in Washington.
