Export documents

If you have documents that are endorsed by the Danish Chamber of Commerce or Confederation of Danish Industry and they need to include copies of documents issued by a Danish authority, they can no longer be legalised or signed as a single package. If you want to include such a document in the endorsed package, it must be legalised separately according to the normal legalisation process for that specific type of document.

If a company needs to have a document legalised which doesn’t appear on the list of export documents, the company must prepare a cover letter on its own letterhead describing the content of the document which can be for example product descriptions etc.

The cover letter must be stapled together with the document.

Afterwards the cover letter must be stamped and signed by the company's Chamber of Commerce.

After that, the entire document package (cover letter + document) can be apostilled in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ministry's sticker will only be put on the cover letter.

Power of attorney, agreements and minutes of decisions do not require a cover letter, if the relevant document has an original signature of an authorized employee of the company, which is verified by the Notary Public.

If you want to legalise registration certificates or any other prints from the Chamber of Commerce, there are special rules that apply. You can find more information about these special rules here .
