ONLINE VISA APPLICATION: Fill in your visa application and pay the application fee online using https://applyvisa.um.dk/. After you have applied and paid the visa fee online, you must print and sign the cover letter from ApplyVisa and hand in supporting documents and supply biometrics at the Embassy of Denmark in Helsinki.
Who needs to apply
You might need to apply for a visa for travelling to Faroe Islands or Greenland, even though you have a Finnish residence permit. Read more via this link.
When should you apply
You can apply up to 6 months before your trip. The average processing time is 15 calendar days, but it can take even longer if the application is forwarded to European security checks, or for another reason delayed, depending on the individual case.
Be aware that the waiting time to submit your application/biometrics at the embassy can be long.
The Danish Mission recommends that you do not buy a plane ticket before your visa has been approved.

If you are applying as a family member of an EU/EEA citizen (applicable for Schengen visa application): Bring with you the EU/EEA citizen's original passport, original marriage certificate or birth certificate, original residence card based on EU/EEA family member, proof of reserved tickets travelling with the EEA citizen.
