The processing time in visa cases is 25 days, when all required documentation has been provided. The 25 days is counted from you have filled in your visa application online AND your personal appointment at the Danish Embassy in Reykjavik has taken place for handing in your documents and obtaining your biometrics.

In cases where the processing requires further enquiries or submission to the Danish Immigration Service, the maximum processing time is 45 days.

The European Union’s Entry/Exit System (EES) will be fully operational from 10 April onwards, following its progressive start of operations on 12 October 2025. The EES is an automated IT-system for registering non-EU nationals travelling for a short stay, each time they cross the external borders of Schengen. Further information on the EES can be found here.
