Greetings from the ambassador
It was a great pleasure and an honour to mark the gradual reopening of the Royal Danish Embassy in Damascus on 31 August 2026, marking Denmark’s permanent return to Syria.
The Embassy aims to strengthen the relations between Denmark and Syria, and to help rebuild the country and contribute to a free and inclusive Syria. We cooperate on early recovery and reconstruction, trade and investments, migration, culture and research through the Embassy and the Danish Institute in Damascus. When the situation allows we look forward to reopening the Danish Institute in Damascus, which is presently closed for the public.
We continue to support an inclusive transition, including transitional justice and respect for the rights of all Syrians and groups.
On this website, you will find information about the Embassy. I invite you to follow me on X (@DKAmbSyria) to get to know our work better.
