The Department for Green Diplomacy and Climate is inviting NGOs to submit a project proposal that contribute to improving access to sustainable water services and strengthening climate resilience in African partner countries. The Africa Water and Innovation Facility aims to strengthen the linkages between development cooperation, government-to-government cooperation and economic diplomacy. It will support locally identified and demand-driven water projects in African countries with Danish Strategic Sector Cooperation programmes. 

The main priorities of the Facility are: 1) improved access to sustainable and climate-resilient water services; 2) demonstration and scaling of locally relevant water solutions; and 3) strengthened partnerships between local actors and the Danish water sector. Relevant cross-cutting considerations include climate resilience, environmental sustainability, gender equality, human rights, and the principle of leaving no one behind.

The Call for Proposals has a total budget of DKK 165 million, pending parliamentary approval. 

One proposal will be selected. The planned duration of each proposal must not be less than 60 months and must not exceed 72 months. Lead Applicants may submit only one application under this Call for Proposals.
