Information on vaccinations against covid-19, influenza and pneumococci

To Heads of Diplomatic Missions and Consulates accredited to and resident in Denmark, International Organisations and Other Missions resident in Copenhagen and Honorary Consulates in Denmark

The MFA Protocol Department has received the following information from the Danish Health Authority (in Danish: “Sundhedsstyrelsen”):

“The Danish Health Authority recommends that individuals above 50 years of age and individuals in risk of severe disease, e.g. with underlying comorbidities, immunocompromised individuals and pregnant women, are offered a variant updated booster vaccination in the vaccination programme against covid-19 Autumn/Winter 2022/23. The aim of the autumn vaccination programme is to reduce covid-19 hospitalisation, severe disease and death during the coming autumn and winter. It is important to get vaccinated before the expected waves of infections start to increase.

Booster vaccination against covid-19 is offered if you have completed the primary vaccination course. You are eligible for the booster vaccination if you are above 50 years of age, or if you are below 50 years of age and are at increased risk of a serious course of covid-19. You can find further information about the risk group on the Danish Health Authority’s webpage here. In addition, at least 3 months must have passed since your last vaccination before you can receive a booster vaccination.

If you have not yet completed the primary vaccination course, you can book an appointment for vaccination in the same way as described under “procedure with or without NemID/MitID”.

In addition, the Danish Health Authority also recommends vaccination against influenza and pneumococci for individuals above 65 years of age and to younger individuals at increased risk of serious disease. Please consult your doctor if you are unsure about your risk of serious illness.

You can read more about vaccination against pneumococci, influenza and covid-19 in the Danish Health Authority’s pamphlets.

Procedure with NemID/MitID

You can access www.vacciner.dk where you can book an appointment for vaccination at a vaccination centre. You can also get vaccinated at a general practitioner, at some pharmacies or elsewhere. You can get an overview of where you can be vaccinated here.

People below the age of 50 in the risk group should also fill in a sworn statement at www.vacciner.dk to receive the booster vaccination.

Please be advised that if you experience any difficulties on www.vacciner.dk, you can also contact your home Region directly for assistance (please see below).

Procedure without NemID/MitID

If you do not have NemID/MitID, you should reach out to your home Region:

- Capital Region of Denmark - Phone: +45 38 66 00 00
- Region Zealand - Phone: +45 70 20 42 33

- Central Denmark Region - Phone: +45 70 23 24 15
