PRO Ref. No.: 2020-10023

CIRCULAR NOTE

UPDATE 23.4.2020 Coronavirus Disease COVID-19

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Protocol Department, presents its compliments to all Heads of Diplomatic Missions accredited to Denmark,  International Organisations and Other Missions resident in Copenhagen and Honorary Consulates in Denmark and has the honour to share the following information:

Spouses, partners, parents and children of a Danish citizen or of a foreign resident in Denmark can enter Denmark provided that they comply with the general conditions of entry.

The text can be found here https://politi.dk/en/coronavirus-in-denmark/if-you-are-travelling-to-and-from-denmark in English in the section ‘’What are ‘’worthy’’ purposes.’’ Link to the Danish website can be found here: https://politi.dk/coronavirus-i-danmark/hvis-du-skal-rejse-ind-i-eller-via-danmark

Due to the current restrictions on entry into Denmark, it is still not possible to apply for a short stay visa to Denmark from abroad until 10 May 2020 (incl.). This means that applicants cannot fill in an application online or hand in the application at a Visa Application Center (VAC) or Danish Mission. In urgent cases where an applicant has to travel to Denmark before 10 May and has a worthy purpose for entering Denmark, the applicant can contact the relevant Danish mission.
