UPDATE 28.02.2022 Coronavirus Disease COVID-19

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Protocol Department, presents its compliments to all Heads of Diplomatic Missions and Consulates accredited to Denmark and to International Organisations and Other Missions resident in Copenhagen and Honorary Consulates in Denmark and has the honour to share the following information as per the attached:

From 00:00 on 1 March 2022, there will no longer be any restrictions on entry into Denmark for entrants arriving from an EU or Schengen country.

Entrants from countries outside the EU or Schengen area will only be required to obtain a COVID-19 test within 24 hours after entry. Persons entering from countries outside the EU and Schengen who are vaccinated with an approved vaccine or who can document that they have been infected with COVID-19 within the past 180 days will be exempt from this requirement and therefore may enter without restrictions. Certain exemptions from the requirement for testing after entry still apply, e.g. for children under the age of 15.

The easing of travel restrictions are being implemented at the recommendation of the Epidemic Commission and following approval of this recommendation by the Epidemic Committee. Statens Serum Institut has assessed that entry restrictions can be significantly eased in relation to the current travel restrictions that expire on 28 February 2022.

The new eased travel restrictions will apply through 29 March 2022. An “emergency brake” mechanism remains in place and can be activated in the event that new virus variants of concern emerge. However, the emergency brake is not currently activated for any country.

As always, further information will be available on https://en.coronasmitte.dk/ in due course.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Protocol Department, takes this opportunity to renew to all Heads of Diplomatic Missions and Consulates accredited to Denmark and to International Organisations and Other Missions resident in Copenhagen and Honorary Consulates in Denmark the assurances of its highest consideration.
