AsDB - Asian Development Bank

The Asian Development Bank (AsDB) was established in 1966 and has 67 member countries. With the AsDB's objective of contributing to economic and social progress in Asia through poverty reduction, including the promotion of sustainable growth, social development and good governance, the Bank contributes to the achievement of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) broadly and in particular to Goal 1 (Eradicate poverty), Goal 10 (Reduce inequality) and Goal 13 (Climate action).
Denmark's share of the AsDB's share capital is 0.34%. In light of the economic crisis, the AsDB was recapitalised in 2010 by 200%, the fifth recapitalisation since the bank's creation. Denmark participated in the capital increase with a contribution of approximately DKK 70 million in 2010.
