Evaluation of Danida multi-bilateral interventions

An evaluation of Danish “multi-bi” support, more specifically programme and project-specific, development multi-bi support in Danida bilateral Country Programmes (CPs) between 2013 and 2019, has been undertaken by an independent team of consultants from Mokoro Ltd. The evaluation is based on case studies in Afghanistan, Niger, Mali, Palestine and Ukraine as well as broader investigations and surveys. The background for this evaluation was the increasing use of multi-bi contributions in Danish development assistance, and the fact that Danish multi-bi contributions had not been evaluated previously. The evaluation presents lessons learned regarding country multi-bi support, including strengths and weaknesses, and provides a range of recommendations aimed at informing future use of the multi-bi instrument in Danish development assistance.
