True copies of private documents (passport, driver’s license, etc.)
True copies of Danish ID cards, such as passports, driving licences, residence cards, and the yellow health insurance card, must be made by a Notary Public at the District Court, who must also endorse the copy with 'Certified True Copy'/'Tro Kopi'. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs can then legalise the Notary-endorsed true copy. You can find the Notary Public here.
We do not legalise Notary-endorsed true copies of other documents issued by Danish authorities, such as marriage certificates, personal certificates, residence certificates, etc. These must be issued by the issuing authority.
We do not legalise true copies of documents issued by foreign authorities. Read more about the legalisation of foreign documents here.
