The Consulate General of Denmark in Houston is looking for a Communications Advisor & Network Manager to join our team!

About the Role

As a Communications Advisor and Network Manager, you will combine strategic communications with relationship-driven community building. You will play a key role in developing and executing communications initiatives within the energy sector that strengthen the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark’s brand, messaging, and stakeholder engagement across North America. At the same time, you will cultivate and grow a dynamic network of CEOs and senior executives, fostering valuable connections and knowledge sharing. You will plan and deliver high-impact events, communications, and member experiences that create lasting value for the network.

Key Responsibilities

As Communications Advisor and & Network Manager, your tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement effectful communications to stakeholders in both Denmark and North America that promote Danish strongholds, key market opportunities and customer success stories with a specific focus on the energy sector.
  • Create, edit, and manage high-quality communications materials, including newsletters, articles, presentations, and social media content with a specific focus on the energy sector.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media representatives within the energy sector to secure relevant coverage, position the North American Energy team as a thought leader, and promote the Energy Team’s key initiatives, expertise, and strategic priorities.
  • Manage and grow the network of Danish companies in Texas by building strong relationships, facilitating connections, and ensuring a high level of member engagement.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute events, roundtables, workshops, and networking activities that deliver value to members and stakeholders.
  • Monitor communications and engagement performance, gathering insights and feedback to continuously improve activities and outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • A relevant educational background (min. bachelor's degree or equivalent).
  • Work experience in communications, marketing or journalism.
  • Experience in producing high-quality communications products (e.g. videos, graphics, articles etc.)
  • Strong organizational, communications, and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent command of English (both written and spoken).
  • Proficiency in Danish (spoken and written) is advantageous but not required.

Employment conditions

  • You will be offered full time employment for 2 years with the possibility of extension.
  • You will be hired on a local contract based on the relevant legally binding labor market rules of the United States of America.
  • You will be employed with an average workweek of 37 hours.
  • You will be entitled to 25 days of paid vacation per year.
  • Your salary will reflect your qualifications, relevant experience and proven work-related results.
  • Benefits and other conditions will be based on the Consulate’s Staff Rules.
