Almost 40 years of ambitious energy policies have put Denmark ahead in the renewable energy industry resulting in a leading position within wind power, smart grid, district heating and energy
efficiency. The job is offering an exciting challenge and the opportunity to make a difference in one of Denmark’s biggest export markets for offshore wind, green hydrogen and energy technology.
About the job
At the Danish Embassy in Washington, you will help strengthen the cooperation between American and Danish authorities in the energy sector, with a main focus on offshore wind energy and green hydrogen. The goal of the cooperation is to strengthen the sustainable development in both countries by sharing insights on policy frameworks and regulation when it comes to integration of renewable energy, particularly offshore wind and green hydrogen.
Offshore wind is expected to play a major role for the energy market and decarbonization in the United States. Danish experience and technologies have a lot to offer. It will be crucial that you are able to create strong networks and relationships with national and regional stakeholders. You will be the coordinator of several initiatives, and responsible for following up on leads as well as manage the logistics of high-level visits, workshops and study tours.
You will be hired at the Danish Embassy in Washington and be part of the Embassy staff of around 55 employees. In your daily work, you will coordinate closely with the energy advisor at the embassy and report directly to the Head of the Department for Economic Diplomacy and Domestic Political Affairs. You will be a part of the economic diplomacy team at the Danish Embassy in Washington and work closely with Trade Council’s commercial team across North America as well as the international offices of ministries and agencies in Denmark.
