NB: French as working language is crucial for implementation of activities under this grant. Therefore, the uploaded Information Note is in French. Moreover, the documents for submission need to be filled out in French, even if the templates are in English.   

As part of Denmark’s Sahel Future Generations Programme (SFGP) 2026‑2029, a Call for Proposals is being carried out, under which applications can be submitted for two priority focus areas:

  1. Support for inclusive voices through civil society, human‑rights actors and the media, as well as access to reliable information (Strategic Objective 1);
  2. Support for young people through skills development, education, employment and entrepreneurship (Strategic Objective 2).

Proposals may cover Strategic Objective 1 (SO1), Strategic Objective 2 (SO2), or both focus areas, and approaches that integrate SO1 and SO2 are encouraged. The planned project periods may not exceed 36 months and are expected to run from 1 January 2027. SFGP 2026‑2029 covers Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. Individual projects can be implemented in one, two or all three of the programme countries, but the final selection of projects must ensure coverage of all three countries.

This Call for Proposals is launched subject to the approval of the granting authorities, including the Danish Parliament’s approval of the Finance Acts for 2027 through 2029. Consequently, changes may occur, including changes to the overall objectives, budget, geographic scope, etc., of SFGP 2026‑2029. The focus areas under this Call for Proposals may also be altered, removed or supplemented. Moreover, all mentioned budgets and allocations are indicative and not binding in any way. Even with a successful application, final allocation of funding on this basis cannot be guaranteed.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark reserves the right to cancel this Call for Proposals at any time.

The application must be received by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs no later than 19 October 2026 at 16:00 GMT. Further background information and a description of the application process can be found in the information note, which can be downloaded below together with the relevant annexes.

Applicants may submit written questions concerning eligibility for funding and the concept note no later than 1 October 2026 at 16:00 GMT to [email protected]. Answers to written questions will be published no later than 7 October 2026 at 16:00 GMT. No individual responses will be provided to questions submitted by potential applicants.
