Company documents
Endorsement of cover letters by the relevant chamber of commerce
If a company needs to have a document legalised which does not appear on the list of export documents or notary actions, the company must prepare a cover letter on its own letterhead with a short description of the document, number of pages and the purpose of the document. The document can be company information, product descriptions etc.
The cover letter must be stapled together with the document, and afterwards, the cover letter must be stamped and signed by the company's chamber of commerce e.g. the Danish Chamber of Commerce or the Confederation of Danish Industry. The entire document package (cover letter + document) can be apostilled in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Please note, the sticker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark will only be put on the cover letter.
We do not accept endorsed documents with copies of documents issued by Danish or foreign authorities. Original documents issued by Danish authorities must be legalised according to normal legalisation procedures.
If you want to legalise registration certificates, articles of association, or any other prints from the Danish Business Authority, you can find more information here.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reserves the right, based on an individual assessment, to refuse documents for legalisation if it cannot be demonstrated without reasonable doubt that it is a Danish document or if there is any other reason to doubt whether the document falls within the scope of the Apostille Convention.
Additionally, the document must be computer-generated. Handwritten documents are not accepted.
